Training Courses Livermore Software Laboratories, Intl. has been teaching two courses on firewalls using PORTUS since January 1st,1997. The first is a general course on firewalls and network security. It covers the development of security policies, the use of firewalls, and the testing of firewalls; the full description accompanies this letter. LSLI uses PORTUS as its primary firewall for the "hands-on" component in this class. The second course is the PORTUS technical training course previously offered by LSLI. The instructors take elements of the first course and add a detailed focus on PORTUS, its set-up, configuration, maintenance, and testing. Both courses are five days long, taught out of LSLI's Houston offices, and offered on an appointment basis. We strongly encourage you and your technical staff to attend these classes. They will provide you with a detailed understanding of PORTUS, and also secure networking and network management. Completion of the course will earn the student certification in network security from LSLI and certification in PORTUS administration.
